Things That I Want: Thankful, Fur Sure - Zara

Well first and foremost,

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans!

Another year, a million and one things I am thankful for this year. One the amazing new job. Thanks to the great opportunity to work with such great individuals. Two, the people I met in the fashion industry. I've learned a lot from these people. Three my amazing friends and family for being there for me. Four my fashionistos and fashionistas around the world, thank you for your patronage. And last but not the least, New York/ES you've been my rock and my inspiration. I Love You and thank you for the fond memories and I can't wait to make more. I guess the second time is the charm.

Alright, remember to breath in between spoonful of food and drink plenty of liquor water.

In today's Things That I Want post. I'm feeling a little frisky. I don't know is it because I saw the Broadway production of The Lion King on my recent trip to NYC or I basically just love the way it looks. Well, like most coat and heavy knit wear that I own there's a chance that I will be wearing this probably once a year or as of late, when I'm in NYC. Since I'm back with New York/ES I will be over there more than twice a year, not counting my trips for Mercedes Benz NYFW. Way to go rack up those miles. Yay me. This piece, which is pretty much a sold piece for me, is from Zara. It's a fur lined heavy knit cardigan. I personally don't like knits and I prefer to wear jackets but I've been eyeing this piece for a hot minute . . . well actually just over the weekend when I stopped by their flagship store while I was in New York. The cardigan retails fo $159.

The Cat Is Out of My Jack Spade Bag - Matt Ardell by Christian Ferretti

Hopefully my fashionistos and fashionistas had a great week and for my fellow Americans had a great Thanksgiving. I'm, personally, glad that I didn't gauge myself with food and rendered myself helplessly on the couch succumbing to food induced coma. For most of us it was not just one dinner or lunch but a marathon of eating for a couple of days, on my case. I also didn't partake with the craziness that was called Black Friday. The lines and the chaos of it all never appealed to me. No matter how cheap the merchandise got. Besides most of the time I would go do my Christmas shopping a couple of days later and they would still have the same things that they had from Black Friday.

I spent Thanksgiving day with the family and the day after with friends. One of my really good friends shared his tradition with us which was tree ornaments with our names and we pick a word that spoke to us from another set of ornaments. I chose reconciliation. Eventhough the gravity of the word was not as intense as New York/ES getting back together. It spoke greatly of what transpired the week I was in New York.

Have a great weekend Everyone!

We close this week with an editorial that appeared on the latest issue of Hero magazine. Matt Ardell was photographed by Christian Ferretti and styled Gro Curtis. The cover story featured some beautiful and haunting images with some great dramatic pieces to match the mood. Eventhough it has only 8 issues under its belt, Hero has been a favorite magazine of mine.

Holidaze - Florian Neuville by Bryan Huynh

Now that all the Thanksgiving "festivities" are over. It is time to get ready for the holiday festivities. I will probably start my Christmas shopping this week. My biggest priority is to find the perfect gifts for my three nieces, the most important kids in my life right now. Then something for New York/E.S. something I can send out easily. For some reason the hardest people to shop for are the ones I date. The easiest one I can think about would be tickets to see me here in San Francisco, honestly. BUT that's more like a gift for me than for New York/E.S., not like I have a problem with that. I know most of y'all are probably having a hard time going back to work this week after the long holiday weekend but hey, I just can't believe it's almost December. Where did time go, especially after Summer.

For today's post we have new comer, Florian Neuville, as he grazes the pages of the third issue of SID magazine. The great editorial is photographed by Bryan Huynh and styled by Yu-Jen Wang. I love the bold pieces that are relevant and actually goes with the whole aesthetic of the editorial. The only comment I had is that on some pictures his eyes look "dead" I would like to see some intensity on them especially the last photograph. But the editorial is great nonetheless.

Sleepless in San Francisco - Elia Cometti by Giovanni Squatriti

The funny thing about staying with New York/ES when I came to visit, those four days came and went but at the same time felt like an eternity. I think that's why I haven't really "recuperated" from all of a sudden sleeping alone again. I know it seems ridiculous but alas it's exactly 2 am right now and I'm awake. Sure it might be just insomnia but there's this longing to be with this person. I guess that will be one thing that I envy from conventional relationships and that person you're dating is just a car ride away. Eventhough we do call or video chatt as frequent as we do, it will never replace an actual touch.

I know there's one solution to this but I shall cross the bridge when I get there.

Happy Friday my fashionistos and fashionistas! Finish strong and stay dry to my fellow San Franciscans!

In today's editrial post we have Elia Cometti as he appeared on the third issue of the Parisian magazine, ODDA. Giovanni Squattiti photographs Cometti surrounded by pieces for Versace Home and styled by David Martin with pieces from Versace's offerings for Spring/Summer 2013. GOD! I love that one image with the sleeveless blazer, my favorite piece from the collection.

Speaking of Versace, The new cologne Eros' advert with Brian Shimansky is pretty darn cool.

Do You Remember? - Francisco Lachowski by Michelle Du Xuan

Last night, I reconciled with an old college friend who recently reached out and sent me pictures of him and his little one. I had my hesitations first because I don't really know what might unravel when the dust was brushed away. It has been years. A lot of things had happend in between. Not to mention him leaving my graduating year to play professional football and all. I took him to one of my favorite restaurants, Frances to get some (not so) light dessert and wine. At the end of the night, it made me miss college and time of yesteryears. It felt like a lifetime but in reality it has only been four years since my undergrad. I'm glad I did it. Eventhough we were but shadows of our younger selves, I'm glad that as adults we still had that connection. Time will pass and we will grow old (yikes!) but true compatibility will never fade.

Today is not only the first day of December in terms of the holidays but it is also World AIDS day. It is not only toady but everybody SHOULD be aware of their status. Moreover for young adults in this country who seemed to be less informed. I'm not going to turn this post as a PSA but awareness is prevention.

Have a great weekend my fashionistos and fashionistas.

I'm closing this week with photographs by Michelle Du Xuan featuring top model, Francisco Lachowski. After working for an editorial for L'Officiel Homme China story that I posted a month ago here, the two worked on some additional shots. Lachowski was styled by Benjamin Armand in Givenchy and Julius keeping that warrior theme that we saw on the editorial.

Comfortable - Max Rendell by Karim Sadli

It was a rainy weekend in San Francisco. Eventhough for the most part it was quite a relaxing one, it ended on a quite sour note, thus aggravated me a little bit. When I'm aggravated I tend to do it in my house, by myself and shut my phone. Unlike most people who would rather talk to their friends, I always thought that the best council would be yourself. At least that way I wouldn't be able to blame anybody but myself.

I'm aware that bumps like this would eventually happen. Because, well, nobody was born perfect. except me. Just kidding. I mean technically speaking I was sort of playing double standard. I shouldn't be too hard on New York/ES.

SO, last night while grabbing a drink with the bestie, the word "comfortable" came up. Would that sum up my relationship? Because realistically nothing was ever convenient with this, like I said.

Today we have British model Max Rendell as photographed by Karim Sadli for the Fall issue of VMAN. Rendell was outfitted by Jay Massacret with rich leather pieces by Jil Sander, Burberry Prorsum, Givenchy, and Pringle of Scotland to name a few.

With Friends Like These . . . - James Smith & Jacob Coupe by Cameron McNee

Who needs enemies? I'm pretty sure you've heard that saying before. For the most part, I consider myself a good judge of character but sure enough two or three gets past my radar. Gossipers and drama makers. I know, I know I should take the high road and not stoop on their level. One, people will always talk, maybe they're jealous or maybe they're just bored with their lives. Two, after these wolves in sheep's clothing are revealed then you really know who are your true friends.

The thing is, no matter how much I say I won't let negativity from others affect me. It does, I am only human after all.

In today's editorial post we have Models 1 talents, James Smith and Jacob Coupe dapper in vintage feel outfits for London magazine, Shortlist. The duo are styled by the always amazing Barnaby Ash in period-feel pieces by Marks & Spencer, Gant and Viktor & Rolf to name a few. The editorial is lensed by Cameron McNee.

Happy Thursday!

Festive vs Formal - Sean O'Pry by Arnaldo Anaya Lucca

While in the midst of a minor fashion emergency yesterday. Meaning, one of the pieces that I wanted when I was in New York a few weeks ago was not available here in the West coast. So I had New York/ES go to the store to check. Of course, they only have larges left. As much I love oversized knitted sweaters right now. An oversize jacket wont be cute.

That brought me to this conundrum. We all know that December would be the month of Holiday parties. Parties meant outfits and outfits meant festive . . . or was it formal. Was there a difference between the two? Black Tie to me would never be festive and a bright colored blazer wont be appropriate for a Black Tie event. But nowadays, the line between the two was becoming more of a blur with high fashion houses pushing the limits of the norm. So however you spend and wear for your holiday parties, do it fashionably.

We close the week with a cover story editorial with top model Sean O'Pry for the fifth issue of DSection. Photographed by Arnaldo Anaya Lucca for this quite festive editorial perfect for the season.  Sean O'Pry was styled by Joseph Episcopo with pieces by Alexander McQueen, Prada, Versace and Marc by Marc Jacobs.

My Charlie Brown Kind of Christmas - Simone Nobili by Cristina Capucci

I have exactly two weeks from today to shop for the people that I'm giving gifts this holiday. It seems like a lot of time but really, with work and social responsibilities, I'm cutting it short. The good news, I already have a gift for ES. At least that's one gift down. I just need one day and, yes, the whole day to go around town and shop. THEN another day to wrap these gifts. I know that most of the time people don't even think about presentation. But I'm not one of them. I plan everything to the ribbon and the cards. I know, I know it'll just end up in the trash but at least it would look pretty for a couple of days under my Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree. I mean I guess I could fit a 3-4 foot tree in my living area/study or share the house christmas tree upstairs with the rest of the housemates but I love my Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree. It finally went up last night, but not like it took forever or anything.

In today's editorial post, we open the week with top model Simone Nobili as photographed by Cristina Capucci. The project appears on the newest issue of Essential Homme. Nobili is styled by Matteo Grecco in graphic pieces by Prada, Z Zegna, Dolce & Gabbana, and Burberry to name amidst a garden as a backdrop.

Things That I Want: Baroque Romantique- Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2012 - 13

Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2012-13
I think that when it comes to dating, we want our significant other to make us feel like, we're the only one they see and pretty much the only person that will make them happy. Eventhough that the jaded part of us would say Hell No! That's why we want the biggest rock or the rarest stone on our rings. I chose a black diamond not because of the rare qualities but of course what it looks like. Not because of the popular belief that it reflects ones heart. I guess being in a serious relationship does change a lot of things . . . like taking things . . . more seriously. I know "Gasp!". The other day a friend made a comment saying that she doesn't really know how I do a long distance relationship. I told her, it's not for everybody and two, I told her there will come in our lives that we learn how to prioritize and finally think what are the important things in our lives.

So, as one of the coveted pieces for fall/winter 2012, As envisioned by the wonder duo Dolce & Gabbana. I love how they brought Baroque with a modern twist. Of course, when I saw the show for the first time I was quite skeptical, since the collection was way too rich and quite opulent to be wearable but I'm not saying that the collection was a dud. As the matter of fact I quite enjoyed it. I love opulence and excess. I always believe that life would be so boring without a touch of fantasy.

The brocade and embroidered pieces are just awe inspiring and quite beautiful to say the least. It is romantic. As putting my two cents in for my yearly family portrait. I will be suggesting black and gold. I'm quite excited really. Guess what I'll be wearing? I'm absolutely in-love with this crew neck sweater with the intricate embroidery! The jumper is on sale from $10,300 to $7,210 what a bargain! hashtag smiley face.

The Weekend, The Surprise & The Rain - James Collins by Joseph Bleu

Oh the weekend came and went like a blur. It was relaxing and yet hectic weekend, especially with my last work week for the remainder of the year for my buyer job. And as a good Uncle, I went to my oldest niece's fifth birthday dinner. When I was shopping for a gift for her I couldn't possibly believe how hard it was to shop for toys!

There was also a nice surprise this weekend for me. It was a short visit but sweet, I thought. Just when I was able to get to sleep by myself, I have a feeling I would be back to square one, when tomorrow comes. I guess it was better than nothing really with ES's birthday coming this week and all. Oh yeah, a couple's night with my sis and my brother happened on Saturday as well. We went to see The Hobbit movie. So, I guess that made it official for us.

Well I couldn't possibly forget the rain. At least, a perfect excuse to wear one of my Burberry Prorsum coats, that rarely see the light of day out here in the west coast.

Well, the one week countdown for Christmas begins today and I'm far from ready! Or are we counting down to the Mayan prophecy "End of Days" this Friday? I can't remember.

We open this week with an editorial made for MMS. Ford Men Direct model, James Colins was caught in the rain with New York based photographer, Joseph Bleu and styled by Jamaal Singleton in sartorial looks that captured dapper under rain.

I always loved Joseph Bleu's projects but this would be my favorite so far. The texture and the drama of the images were just stunning.

Like Death Warmed Up - Greg Peterson & Troy Cantana by Sean Gomes

It's official! I have the cold! So much for not getting sick last Friday. But no-no I wont let this snotty-icky sickness affect my holidays. No sir. Hydrate, Vitamin C, and plenty of rest. I have so much to do though, it's kinda unnerving. Now I know how Emily (from Devil Wears Prada) felt when she had to "work" when she was sick.

"I refuse to be sick, I'm wearing Valentino for crying out loud!"

Alright, I'll make this short and sweet. I can feel the magic of Nyquil kicking in.

Happy Hump Day my fashionistos and fashionistas!

Sure, it's been quite chilly recently but again I live in San Francisco, it's not that cold. But I do love the outerwear editorials. Today we have an editorial that appears on the latest issue of Stardust magazine featuring the great styling by Justin-Julius Santos. Greg Peterson and Troy Cantana are photographed by Sean Gomes for this project.

I love how every look is different. I absolutely adore the fur jacket and that leather belted Paul Smith coat.

It's The End of The World As We Know It - Mayrone Henry by Julia Hetta

And I feel fine! Okay, if you're reading this, that means the world didn't end at 3:11 AM pacific time (11:11 am UTC). NOT that I want the world to end or anything. But if it did? I'm content on how my life turned out so far. There are a few more things that I wish I have done but I lived an exciting life (so far). It's just interesting to hear people's reactions and inputs on the matter. Especially the social media world. So ridic, it's bananas!

I have been planning my outfits for the upcoming New York fashion week cycle on February but in the local front, The Snow fashion show happens at the end of January. I know I have like a month left but last year I had quite a dilemma on my overall look. Well mostly because I have this big hesitation on wearing white pants. This year it's a little different all thanks to Riccardo Tisci. I don't want to give away the whole outfit just yet but I just purchased my shoes, shirt and pants yesterday! I can't wait for them to arrive already!

If you're wondering wether you could attend the show, the answer is yes. Tickets are available *here*

Well have a great weekend my fashionistos and fashionistas!

We close the week with an editorial that appears on the latest issue of Dazed & Confused. Now is Forever stars Marone Henry as photographed by Julia Hetta. The strory is styled by Bryan McMahon with pieces from the collections from houses like Givenchy, Dries Van Noten, JW Anderson, and Lanvin to name a few.

I love this editorial because it may or may not feature one of the pieces I'm coveting for next season!

T'was The Eve Before Christmas - Samuel Robert by Ricardo Nelson

Since most of my friends were about to head home to their families for the Holidays, The weekend was eventful. Starting from a Holiday party on Friday in Berkeley. Brunch and Dinner with friends on Saturday and going to the Great Dicken's Christmas fair/ Victorian Holiday Party yesterday. It was surprisingly entertaining. The funny thing about all this, I had clothes that could have translated to the Victorian era so easily. Thanks to Christopher Bailey (Burberry Prorsum) and Vivienne Westwood.  I also wrapped my presents . . . well actually I just bagged them. It was easier.

Well, Season's Greetings to all my fashionistos and fashionistas around the world!

Today we have a black and white series with the rising superstar Samuel Robert as captured by Ricardo Nelson. Midtown Manhattan served as the back drop to this quite poignant shoot. It made me miss New York so much and the person living there.

Defining Moments - Sean O'Pry by Renie Saliba

I hope everybody had a great Christmas. As for me, I had a wonderful time with the family, eating too much and enjoying each other's company. I just wish that I was off till the New Years but alas I was not. I had to drive back to the city yesterday.  Well atleast I didn't have to get stuck in an airport for a delay while on a layover. Not like I would though, I always fly direct.

The sad thing about this holiday was I wish I was able to spend it with ES. It would have been perfect.

Only a few days left in the year 2012, kind of surreal.

In today's editorial post featured top male model, Sean O'Pry for August Man.  The cover story was shot by Renie Saliba. Katie Burnett styled Sean in pieces for Kim Jones' vision for the Louis Vuitton man for Spring/Summer 2013.

I love the article. It was funny to think that it has been a few seasons now that I've been surrounded by models, minor celebrities, editors and of course amazing designers and how it sorta grounds me. These people were just like you and me. Well, maybe not you but definitely me. Half kidding.

A Walk To Remember - Alexandre Cunha by Jay Schoen

Okay, this is not as dramatic as the Nicholas Sparks' Movie/Book, but I've been finding myself contemplating as of late. Since most of my closest friends are out of town till the New Years, I have been doing a lot of things by myself. It does not help that the person I'm dating is 3,000 miles away either. Like I said it's not sad but it does leave me a lot of time to think. Something's been on mind for some time now and it needs some deciding, especially when everybody keeps on asking me about it. The idea of it makes me want to burst into tears or just burst period because for what I'll be gaining but at the same time, what I'll be losing.

Happy weekend my fashionistos and fashionistas! Last one for 2012, let us all make it count.

We close the week with an editorial post featuring the Brazilian super model Alex Cunha. Cunha appears on the latest issue of ODDA, one of my new favorite magazine this year. The project is shot by Jay Schoen and styled by Yasmina Benabdelkrim. The shot features strong military inspired pieces by high fashion houses like Dior Homme, Kris Van Assche, Fendi, and Giorgio Armani.

Even with the strong military inspired looks, I find this editorial very romantic sans the obvious elements that makes one editorial "romantic."

Auld Lang Syne - A Farewell To Another Great Year

As I sat here at my desk, in reflection or the fact that I'm still sick I wonder in all honesty, "where did the year go?" I couldn't believe that it's the last day of 2012! As the minutes tick by in this morning hour, I begun to reflect.

Alot has happened this year, professionally and personally.

I changed jobs in hopes to be working to where I wanted to work at in years to come, Menswear accessories. Turning down a promised promotion from my previous company was hard but I have to stay true to my heart. My father once told me, if it doesn't feel right don't do it. So far, I thought I made the right decision.

This year, I also met a few great individuals both professionally and personally. I met one person that I would consider as one of the most genuine people I've met or will probably meet in my lifetime. Helping him out making his house a home was a great way to spend my Summer. I was not talking about just interior decoration but I meant manual labor. That was an experience.

I lost touch with a few, burned some bridges with others and in all while reconnected with some, I'm still very much appreciative with the true friends that I have. Especially my bestie, I love you guys.

Since it was my third and fourth fashion week cycle this year in New York, it was great to see a few people that I had networked with in the past and actually formed a little group there. Thank you guys for keeping me sane during the insane week called Mercedes Benz fashion week. I would also like to thank the designers and their PR people (NYC & SF) for making this year the most fashionable year yet.

Thank you to my family as always for supporting me with all my endeavors. To the most amazing parents that one can have to my brother and my sister for giving me such unbelievable joy with my two new nieces being born this year. That makes three beautiful girls now.

I'm also thankful that I had the chance to actually travel this year, or at least go to places that was not for work. And what truly was the cherry on top of the cake was that I got to go to New York and actually see New York for the first time in a long while. Eventhough it was on the wake of one of the worst storms that the east coast had seen. My company with those days I spent over there was beyond sublime. The fact that certain words were exchanged and would constitue as probably one of the most important life event in ones life made it even more amazing.  But I digress.

That brings me to the most important person in my life right now. I always thought love fitted in one of those one size fits most boxes. It does not. It would never be the same for everybody. When I stopped caring what other people say was when I finally got clarity. I could still remember that Number: Lab show like it was yesterday. Look how far had we gone. Thank you for making my year the most annoying and yet the most loved so far. I love you bubsie! I wish you were here to welcome the New Year with me!

So wether you'll be in one of those exclusive posh black tie soiree, a massively crowded over priced local radio party or in a house party. Be safe. Hopefully this cold/cough would be gone by tonight. I'm wearing Valentino shoes for crying out loud!

Well, it is about that time (not really, but regardless). Let us all raise our bubbly and toast to the New Year. It's been fun, It's been real 2012 but this too shall pass.

I'm closing this last post of 2012 with a scene from the movie Sex and The City. Probably the best moments of the movie. For Auld Lang Syne.

First and foremost, Happy New Year! Hope everybody had a great and safe New Year's Eve celebration as I did.

Now that was out of the way. I finally went to see Les Miserables yesterday with a friend. I love the musical okay that was an understatement! and I've heard various lukewarm reviews about the movie adaptation.  Overall, I liked it. Anne Hathaway was good and her rendition of "I Dream A Dream" was great and rich at her own right. The actor who played Marius (Eddie Redmayne) was amazing. So was Samantha Barks. Amanda Seyfried was a little flat for me. I didn't really liked the way she sang. She might have been great in Mama Mia (so they said) but not here. I found myself cringing when she botched her high notes. Speaking of cringing, One of my favorite number on the show was "Bring Him Home" and in all honesty Hugh Jackman was great but I didn't like the "shouting" as much in this song. But the highlight was Colm Wilkinson as the Bishop and anybody spotted Frances Ruffelle as one of the prostitues? LOVE.

In today's editorial, we have project that was shot by Arnaldo Anaya Lucca for GQ France. Anthony Vibert, Maximiliano Patane, Christopher Michaut, and Romain Sergent wore great sartorial pieces styled by Jaqueline De Cossette with an equally handsome backdrop. The story was titled, Mes Meilleurs Copain that translates My Bestfriends.

Lost - London, Milan, Paris Menswear Fashion Week Schedule

Don't you just hate it when you lose something and you can't remember how in the world did it happen? Apparently I lost my beloved (I've owned it for some years now) automatic Kenneth Cole watch. Okay I know it's not expensive it was only $200 when I purchased it but I have had so many compliments about it and actually one of my favorite watches that I own. Poof, gone. I don't remember getting mugged since I still have my black diamond band on and that cost more than my watch, I know. Must be one hell of a night, I guess. I can either look at it as a sign to buy a new one, maybe this Michael Kors watch that I've been eyeing for a while? Perhaps.

So, goodbye my beautiful. It has been fun.

So the calm before the storm. Since on Monday (Tomorrow) the menswear fall/winter 2013-14 begins. At least my big three (not counting NYFW, of course) We start of with London, followed by Milan and then Paris. I cannot wait to see the unveiling of Saint Laurent Paris, and my favorites, Frankie Morello, Vivienne Westwood, Givenchy of course and Burberry Prorsum to name a few.

I Want More - Jesper Lund & Sebastian Lund by Emil Monty Freddie

We all had one of those days. It was not that I was having a horrible day or anything. After the first buyers meeting of the new year yesterday afternoon, It hit me like a truck. I was having the deep longing . . . for something. Something more. I know it seemed like I don't like my job as a buyer. Au contraire, I love what I do. It was just the million dollar question got asked again.

When am I moving to New York or will I ever move there for ES?

I know that I would be with the person that I love and the great opportunity that New York represents in my career in the fashion world. I still believe that every single one of us were destined for greatness and we yearn and hunger for success. We just have to sieze it. Would that time be now? Would that be this year?

Happy Hump Day my fashionistos and fashionistas! I'll post my highlight of the London Menswear fashion week sometime this week.

In today's post, we have a simple but sartorially great editorial from the 6th issue of the Fashionisto magazine. Model brothers Jesper and Sebastian Lund appeared on this project that was shot by Emil Monty Freddie. The Lund brothers were styled by Ghazal Samii with pieces by Giorgio Armani, Hugo Boss, Yves Saint Laurent, and Gucci to name a few.

I love those riding boots and the overall minimalist aspect of each look.
