An Inner Indecisiveness as Wide, as Wavering As The Ocean - Tobias Sorensen by A.P. Kim

I feel like a hipster that I just recently bought into the Lana Del Rey band wagon. I mean I've like her more popular songs in the past but I never really thought about buying her albums. So after listening to a few less popular songs on Youtube, I'm hooked! I just love her voice mixed with her somewhat deep-thought provoking songs. I can't really believe that her voice is not a candle scent yet. Sheesh. On a side note, it's so funny to see old pictures of her blonde and . . . different before she became, well Lana del Rey.

Speaking of change, my co-worker is wondering wether I ever bend for anybody because she thinks I'm strong headed. Of course, I have. Relationships are all about compromise. The funny thing about dating a model you'd think they'll be more inclined to be fashionable but most of them are all about the basics. That's not me at all. I'm always the one dressed up. That's how I grew up and now that I'm an adult it comes second nature. There are times when I catch myself looking at the mirror when I'm wearing a V-neck shirt with jeans and hi tops (The Bubs' unofficial "uniform") and shake my head in bewilderment. Sometimes it bothers me that I change for the sake of my significant other but I make sure that I don't lose myself completely in the process. These Hi tops are Givenchy! Now if I can only rub high fashion to the Bubs.

It's Thursday, That's all.

Today we have top model Tobias Sorensen as he grazes the cover and cover story for the newest issue of Essential Homme photographed by A.P. Kim. Terry Lu puts together daytime beach/pool/resort/whatever you wanna call it looks from Versace to Emporio Armani.  White sand beaches . . . soon I will be there. I know this is not shot in Rio but in Mexico. Close enough I guess.

Blonde Moment - Max Rogers by Ben Harries

And that concluded my work week. I can't really put into words how excited I am that I will have a little break from work. So being my Type A self I re-checked my flight itinerary for the 100th time. Yep there is still a six hour layover in New York. So technically my travel time will be longer than I thought with the 3 hour jump to the East coast then another hour Rio time. All these weeks since booking this trip, I'm thinking my travel time is only 15 hours but I guess that's my flight time. which totally makes sense with a six hour layover and a five hour US trek that leaves four hours to Brazil which does not make sense.

This is why I never really think about the how and when.  Just get me there. hashtag blonde moment.

Not that I think blonde people are dumb or anything. of course not.

Happy Weekend my fashionistos and fashionistas. I'm off to brunch.

We close off the week with an editorial that appears on the current issue of the Fashionisto magazine. This flowery and pastel-filled cover story featuring Max Rogers of Storm is photographed by Ben Harries. Fashion Editor, Kenny Ho, puts together looks by Gant Rugger, Alexander McQueen, Etro and Maison Martin Margiela to name a few.

Copacabana - Zhao Lei by Will Davidson

I will make this short because I am TIRED. Yep with capital letters! It has been a while since I traveled somewhere that took longer that nine hours. I thought that six hour layover in New York would be a nice way to go around town for a bit. BAD idea. I almost missed my flight. Eventhough I had a quick jolt of energy seeing the Bubs and driving around a foreign country when I landed in Rio. I couldn't wait till I could go around town but will have to wait.

I don't think it sank in till I went out of the balcony and I could actually see the Cristo Redentor from the distance. I'm actually in Rio de Janeiro! Scratching that out from my bucket list.

I would try to make time to write blog posts throughout the week. Sharing my adventures in Brazil. Tchau!

The editorial post today featured one of the first wave of the Asian super model invasion in the recent years, Zhao Lei. Will Davidson photographed Lei with a picturesque backdrop by the ocean. Grant Woolhead styled the male super model with great summer looks by Dior Homme, Cavali, Hermes and Salvatore Ferragamo to name a few. The editorial story appeared on the latest issue of GQ China.

RIO, Eu Te Amo (I Love You) - Alex Cunha, Caio Cesar & Pablo Morais by Doug Inglish

It has been a wonderful week and Rio de Janeiro has been wonderful to me . . . and the Bubs as well. It would have been nice if it was sunny most of the days I was there. I wanted a real beach day but a day and half of rain versus the whole week forecast was more than I could hoped for. Probably for the best avoiding getting dark. Of course, we frequented the Urca and Copacabana beaches, Bubs' favorites from the two month stay there and it stayed relatively warm that we spent afternoons at the beach. Hiked the  monolithic wonders that surrounds the city. My favorite was the Corcovado starting from the Parque Lage to the world famous, Cristo Redentor. It was just an amazing experience. Aside from hiking I think that eating and drinking adult beverages, namely caipirinhas, summed up my vacation. Not that I was complaining or anything.

I think immersing yourself to a culture that was not your own was always rewarding to my experience. I know that this sounds bourgeois of me because I know that not everybody has the means to travel to exotic locales. But if you do, you should. I think that everybody should experience the world first hand.

Reading about places does not hold a candle from actually being there and experiencing it all yourself.

Since this would be my last post before I head back to the states, I would like to thank our gracious host and all the beautiful friends that we met along our adventures in Rio de Janeiro. Making my trip extra special.

Agradeço do fundo do meu coração!

Rio, you will always have a special place in my heart.

Have a great weekend my fashionistos and fashionistas!

We close the week with an editorial that appeared on the May issue of Details Magazine. It featured Brazilian models Alex Cunha, Caio Cesar and Pablo Morais as photographed by Doug Inlgish. The boys were photographed working out and donning jeans sans shirts at the one of my favorite beaches I've been at, yes counting the ones from Hawaii, The Copacabana Beach.

Not part of the editorial but I included a video that I saw last year about Rio. Enjoy.

The Other Side - Arthur Gosse by Olaf Wipperfurth

It has been FOUR days and some hours since I got back from my vacation and I'm still trying to get into my old routine. Even though during my trip, I was waking up early to go on our hikes with the Bubs. Now I had to actually drag myself out of bed to get ready for work. I guess there lies the culprit. Fun versus work.

Work on the other hand had been pre-occupying me all through the week. Being busy was good since it got my mind off things like. Missing Rio, the Bubs, the Rio crew that we hung out with, the beaches and the breathtaking views, and the caipirinhas especially the caipirinhas. I could probably go on some more but I would spare y'all the trouble.

Well TGIF, my fashionistos and fashionistas! It's going to be a busy weekend for me.

In today's editorial we have Arthur Gosse as he appeared on the latest issue of GQ Spain. Photographed by Olaf Wipperfurth and styled by Sara Padilla. Gosse donned vibrant prints with the likes of Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Dries Van Noten, Etro and Gucci to name a few.

Withdrawals from Paradise - Matthew Terry by Milan Vukmirovic

OMG June first! We are officially half way through the year. It's surely amazing how time flies when you're having fun. Six months in and I've racked so many miles on my MileagePlus program it's unbelievable. Eventhough that I live in a city where almost everybody in this world knows where San Francisco is, I do miss waking up in my paradise, Rio de Janiero.

So on my spare time this week, if I'm not working, shopping online, skyping with the Bubs, or hanging out with people, I'm reminiscing Rio through my pictures and actually cataloguing everything on my Facebook by tagging EVERY single picture I took and uploaded from my trip. I know that's part my OCD part actually feeling withdrawals from being away from paradise. I'm only half kidding.

I've decided not to wear the Givenchy shirt that I bought for the family event on Sunday. I'm going for the Gatsby appeal.

I promise next week I will not will try not to talk about my trip to Rio. Funny thing, at work I don't usually offer the details about my vacation unless I'm asked, not like some people I know. Honey, I just read you. Boom.

We close the week with an editorial that appears on the newest issue of Details magazine that is shot by one of my favorite photographers, Milan Vukmirovic. The simple editorial features top male model Matthew Terry known for his appearance on that Calvin Klein underwear ad that aired during Superbowl. Matthew Marden styles Terry in clean Summer looks by Lacoste, Burberry Prorsum, Marc Jacobs, Bottega Veneta, and Dior Homme to name a few.

Shock & Awe - Benjamin Eidem by Charlotte Wales

Honestly, I only follow one TV series religiously, Game Of Thrones. The last episode is defo something. Everybody knows how graphic HBO series are and this show definitely got plenty of shock and awe.  I think the story itself makes you fall in love with a certain character then they kill them off. It's a little sad but I actually tear up quite a bit without really knowing it after watching the newest episode. I'm not going to ruin it for those folks who didn't get a chance to watch it. Then again, it's all over the social media world.

Since I'm starting my summer reading list upon finishing both World War Z and Cloud Atlas simultaneously. Maybe I should start reading ahead so I wont be that Flabbergasted by upcoming events. Sometimes I really hate surprises. Then again that's also the same reason why I love the show so much.

We open the week with an editorial that is shot by Charlotte Wales for VMAN's latest issue. Ben Eidem models crisp pastels, as styled by Zara Zachrisson, by Givenchy, Zegna and Salvatore Ferragamo. Is it me or Ben looks really skinny in these pictures.

Oh that Givenchy shirt that I bought but didn't wear for this weekend's family event. I change my mind the last minute and went for a more prep look, complete with bowtie and Goorin Bros. hat.

I can always wear it on Wednesday. "On Wednesdays, we wear pink!"

Love Is Blindness - Nick Youngquest by Pat Supsiri

It is no secret that we perceive the word, the feeling, love in different ways. I've been in a relationship with the same person for almost two years now. I think that each day, I learn more about myself and this thing called love and commitment. What it really means to me.

Honestly, as much as I love the idea of being in love. Being in a relationship is a lot of work and I really barely have enough time in the day to do all the things that I need to do. Sometimes relationships hinders me from doing things that I want to do. On the other hand, it also takes me to places that I've always wanted to visit and experience things that I would probably pass on if I'm not in that relationship.

Last night, while having cucumber gimlets at one of my favorite bars in the Tenderloin, Bourbon & Branch with some of my coworkers. We were talking about couples, friends and such. He thinks I'm cynical that's an understatement when it comes to relationships. One of them thinks that I would probably feel different about relationships if the Bubs and I live in the same city. Perhaps he has a point. I've never been the person to look for "love" but with all my dating "career" it tends to find me.  Don't get me wrong I'm thankful that I don't have to experience this gross disappointment that some people get from having troubles looking for their life partner.

I think my point is, sometimes love makes us do stupid things . . . but not me. I'm not one of those people who keep making the same mistakes. I've put people ahead of my own passions before and it is just a few years back that I fully realized this mistake. I love you but I love me more.

In the end I think all I could really hope for is happiness and contentment at this point time. If it ain't broke why fix it.

Today we have rugby player turned model Nick Youngquest as he appears on the pages of the newest issue of Lab A4 magazine. Pat Supsiri photographs the Australian model in great summer pieces by Ermenegildo Zegna, Versace, and Gucci to name a few. The editorial is styled by Chris Cheng.

Pieces - Arran Sly by Damien Blottiere

You don't have to point out that most of the time sometimes I can be a smart ass. Most of the time I'm just kidding but there are times when people just tend to get to me. My pet peeves might be as long as my wish list/buy list of Givenchy pieces. Of course, most of the time I just throw a side-eye shrug it off.  Come on, I'm a realist I know how to conduct myself in public. I did go to a private school where Manners and Etiquete is an actual class. So on a recent conversation with people, they can't quite wrap their heads on the fact that I don't bend backwards for anybody.

Truthfully, I would rather have people be upfront rather than tiptoeing around me. I don't like wasting time. Life is too short.

We open the week with this great editorial that appears on the fourth issue of Dust magazine. Damien Blottiere photographs Arran Sly with his famous origami of images/collage style editorials featuring Fall/Winter 2013-14 pieces by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy.

As We Whisper Our Goodbyes - A Project by Keith Au & Desmond Cheung

What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal

My Grandmother on my Father's side passed away yesterday. She's my first family member that's been there all my life and passed away. I know death of a loved one will always be hard but I guess you could never prepare yourself for it, no matter how much you try. Deep inside, I know that her passing meant she's no longer suffering from her ailments and now in a better place but I also wish that she could have been with us a little longer. She had done so much for my family and I'm truly and deeply grateful for all of it. What I will miss is when she calls me and she can't quite pronounce my name and comes out as Liegs

We will miss you, Grandma and you will live on inside the hearts of all the people you touched. Thank you for everything and We love you.

I'm closing the week with an editorial for Hypebeast featuring Spring/Summer 2013 looks by Givenchy  that appeared on their website a few months ago. The project is photographed by Keith Au and Desmond Cheung and with Wasabi Cheung's styling.

Class & Respect - Guy Robinson by David Goldman

The beginning of the menswear fashion show circuit began with London once again for the Spring/Summer 2014. Well Rio and other European cities had theirs a few months ago but I always keep an eye on the big hitters, in all honesty. Discovering new designers is awesome but in terms of trend spotting, I tune in on the big hitters and markets. To say the least, my days had been busy with fashion show watching and taking notes to what seems to be trending in London. Such a hard job. No, not really.

At least it keeps me busy and keeps my mind off things. So what does one wear during a funeral? I don't know if people really ask themselves this question. To think of it is so morbid that I never really give it much thought. I thought that a simple white shirt with my Etro feather bow tie is subdued enough but I guess bow ties are completely inappropriate for funerals according to Esquire magazine. On the other hand, there are quite a few people saying it doesn't really matter. I'm opting a simple black tie and play it safe. The Bubs says that if somebody gives me a hard time, they're not in mourning enough. I don't want that attention. So I'm choosing to blend in.

We open this week with an editorial that appears on the newest issue of GQ UK. David Goldman photographs Guy Robinson in great sartorial and Gatsby inspired looks. Jo Levin styles Robinson in pristine, handsome looks by Gucci, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, and Prada to name a few. I'm loving that image when Robinson is walking down the steps.

Can't Be Bothered - Jacob Coupe by A.P. Kim

I dont know if everybody gets on these episodes where they feel like that they just can't be bothered by anything. After a very physically and emotionally taxing weekend. I'm spent. So it's nice to see the besties for an impromptu brunch on Sunday. But apparently not enough to reboot myself and it's only Tuesday. With the menswear circuit in Europe well on their way, work's been busy for us buyers. It is safe to say that I don't have time for additional drama in my life. I will cut you down and deal with the consequences later on. I don't have time for people's insecurities right now. Thank God for the ignore call button.

I'm featuring an editorial that appears on the newest issue of Essential Homme today. Top male model Jacob Coupe is photographed by A.P. Kim and styled by Terry Lu with simple yet sharp pieces by Boss Orange, Alexander Wang, Brook Brothers, and Dior Homme to name a few.

Speaking of pink, it is pink party on Saturday. I'm still not sure if I'm wearing my pink Givenchy shirt or purchase a new one. I guess I have a few days to decide.

Beaming With Pride - Jacey Elthalion by Nick Leary

It has been a very laid back week for me. Work has been light and easy, eventhough the Menswear fashion week in Milan wrapped a few days ago and Paris would be on its last day today. I must say there were quite noteworthy collections unveiled this week. Givenchy, Juun J, Dolce & Gabbana, Frankie Morello, Dsquared2 my usual favorites. Made me want next year to come around sooner. But hey I can't possibly forget New York Fashion Week on September. I wanted to see my local New York fashion has to offer too.

On the local front, the Supreme Court released their ruling on DOMA and Prop. 8 cases. I'm just going to say it will be a very happy Pride in San Francisco and I guess in New York as well. Congratulations to all who are getting married and for those who are now recognized in California. It's about time. Eventhough I had to miss a few fashion shows this week because of the recent celebration from the rulings. I, first hand, have something to celebrate.

This is not the end but a beginning.

Again, Happy Pride to my New York and San Francisco friends!

We close of the week with an editorial that appeared on GQ China. It featured current face of the Guess campaigns, Jacey Eltahlion. The editorial was shot by Nick Leary and styled by Grant Pearce with great swim pieces by Ralph Lauren, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Lacoste, and Etro to name some. The location for this shoot was just devine. Made me want to go on another beach destination.

I Look To You - Ricardo Figueiredo by Daniel Rodrigues

I think a part of being independent was that I tend to do everything by myself. Emotionally guarded as they say. I mean I could ask my friends or the Bubs to listen to everything that bothers me but I think in the end I, alone, had to process those emotions. I think, to my sincerest opinion would be one of my biggest strengths and yet my biggest flaw.

The last couple of weeks had been an emotional roller coaster for me and I had been so busy with everything that I don't think I had actually stopped and process it all out. I supposed that I couldn't quite box it out forever. I don't remember what the Bubs and I were talking over the phone last night that I just felt really sad. It was a weird emotion, almost foreign. Especially coming from a high ecstatic weekend that was the Pride festivities on top of the legalization of a certain marriage.

At the end of the night, I consider myself lucky for having a person such as the Bubs in my life. I can't wait to start my whole life with you. If I could also add, It's July. W.O.W.

We open the week with an editorial that appeared on the pages of Fashionisto Magazine. It featured Idependent Men model, Ricardo Figueiredo as photographed by Daniel Rodrigues. Stefano Roncato styled Ricardo with fall/winter offerings by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. Love.

You know that feeling when you wanted something so bad that once you got it, you don't know what to do next. I think it's just human nature for not being content. That, or just my type A personality. Is it really wrong to have cake and eat it too? I don't think so. Why can't you have both.

Hopefully all my American fashionistos and fashionistas had a fun and safe fourth of July. I know I did.  Now if people would stop lighting up fireworks so I could not suddenly wake up at the middle of the night thinking that the Zombie apocalypse had started.

Another fun weekend awaits. I could really get used to this short work weeks. Have a great weekend everyone.

We close of the week with an editorial that appeared on the pages of GQ Spain's latest issue. It featured Brazilian male top model Evandro Soldati as photographed by one of my favorite photographers of all time, Giampaolo Sgura. The vibrant swim fashion story was styled by Miguel Arnau.

W.O.W. This is probably the longest that I have not posted anything on here. I apologize for that. Between everything that's going on with married ack! life, social life, work and wrapped with being sick. I barely have time to sit down. Not that I'm actually complaining because last week went by because I'm having fun. It's always good to be busy.

I'm sleep deprived, exhausted, a little bit dehydrated and wired with coffee and sugar-free low calorie energy drinks. I would say a typical young, active professional's life living his casual city life. It's alright, really. We only live once.

Happy Hump Day my fashionistos and fashionistas!

Today's editorial piece appears on Essential Homme's newest issue featuring the work of another favorite photographer, Giovanni Squatriti. Giuseppe Ceccarelli styles the boys with pieces by Dsquared2, Maison Martin Margiela, Prada, and Salvatore Ferragamo to name a few. Lukas Katinas, Travis Bland, Lucas Pacheco, Bohdan Stupak and Ludovico Vasquez rounds up the cast for the fashion story, American Gothic.

Semi Charmed Life - Emilio Flores by Esmeralda Martin

It wont be the first time that someone tells me that I live a semi-charmed kinda life. Sure that can be true, but overall I just lucked out from being born in a great family, really. So far, and I mean today I have all I need or want. Scratch that I want a new pair of Loubis and maybe that new Volvo C30. Just Kidding. I'm not that spoiled, eventhough I just received my first Hermes Birkin as an early Birthday gift from my parents. The bubs' saying that I have everything. "So what do you get someone who has everything?"he asks, Not everything. I responded with grace and such pedigree, "Nothing, babe, I already got you." I swear even the Unicorns puked rainbow.

It's been a weird week for me, coming from a high last week seeing the Bubs even for  just one night, receiving my gift from the parents, to a fun weekend. Only to start of this week finding out another grandparent dies, that leading to a stressful work week. Honestly, I feel like I need another vacation with the Bubs is in order.

We have an editorial that appears on the pages of Stealer magazine featuring Soul Artist Management talent, Emilio Flores. Esmeralda Martin lenses the project and Jesus Cicero styles Flores in vibrant pieces by Diesel, Burberry Prorsum, Z Zegna, and Salvatore Ferragamo to name a few.

The funny thing about the whole three hour difference from New York to here in San Francisco, I don't get to sleep in on weekends. I wake up bright and early for my Saturday Skype session with the Bubs. No matter how late early I get in when I go out with my people the night before. But one thing I can never get over is seeing my poor shoes the next day. I guess that's one sign that it's a fun night . . . or I just got trampled by a human stampede on the dance floor. The life of the young and care free. We only live once.

BTWs I'm totally obsessing with Jay Z's new album, Magna Carta . . .  Holy Grail. Oh yeah he was in town with Justin Timberlake last night.

Have a great weekend my fashionistos and fashionistas!

We close the week with an editorial that appears on the latest issue of Arena Homme Korea. Hyuna Shin photographs Re:Quest model Igor Stepanov with this Punk inspired shoot styled by Fredo Montes. Living for that black and white picture with the leather hat. We need more editorials like this in the US.

Day Like Today - Marcus Hauge by Brent Chua

I don't usually complain about my living situation because of the many things that I love with my house. One, my walk-in closet/study area is as big as somebody's room in San Francisco or Manhattan. Two, the house itself is big enough that I don't even see my housemates in a regular basis thanks to the multi-level layout of the hill house I'm living. Three, well it's a nice neighborhood. But what can I complain about, oh yeah! How about the internet not working when I need it. Eventhough I love my iPad and my iPhone I would prefer to actually use my Mac when I'm answering emails or when I'm working at home.

I know hashtag first world problems but the reality is, our generation wouldn't be able to function without technology. I could barely stay away from my phone for more than a few hours. I mean I don't post selfies every twenty minutes or have a nervous breakdown and tweet it but I have to check my social media apps to see what's happening. Plugged in or connected, you decide.

In today's editorial we have Norwegian model Marcus Hauge as photographed and styled by the talented, Brent Chua. The predominantly white fashion story appears on the new issue of Lone Wolf magazine. Chua styles Hauge in pieces by Givenchy, Louis Vuitton,  Bottega Veneta and underwear by Emporio Armani.

. . . and Happy Birthday to Riccardo Tisci!

Have You Ever Been To Heaven? - Marc Klinger, Tobias & Lukas Rafael by Lukas Wolejko-Wolejszo

I think it's interesting that as I grow older and life, more or less, gets more complicated. I have less time to relax and clear my mind. Truthfully, even if I'm on vacation I don't 100% check-out let alone when I get home from a busy work schedule. Weekends? Nope I stay busy being a social. But I think it's time, to make some room to de-stress and actually try meditating. Eventhough that retail therapy works all the time, I need a more relaxing time than dodging tourists in downtown. I really wish I can treat myself to a spa day and get a massage every week, like the Bubs. Alas, I have a real conventional job. Not that I'm discrediting the Bub's livelihood. The amount of time that a model spends at the gym? It's almost ridic, and most of these said models already lucked out with the gene pool lottery, anyway. Why bother doing two a day workouts? I guess I'll never know understand.

Well It's Monday, my fashionistos and fashionistas! Start the week fresh.

We open the week with an editorial that appears on the August issue of JMEN. It features models Marc Klinger, Tobias and Lukas Raffael as photographed by Lukas Wolejko-Wolejszo. Metin Misdik styles the boys with pieces from the collections by Z Zegna, Vivienne Westwood, Dolce & Gabbana and Dsquared2 to name a few. I'm loving that the looks remains modern eventhough that the feel of each look is a classic one.
